Domain name transfers are common experiences for many domain name users. We often register domain names on multiple platforms, which can lead to inconvenient backend management.
A website domain name is like a website's household registration. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) directly manages and oversees websites registered in my country through domain names. Since domain names cannot conflict with already registered domain names, some top-level domain names can sometimes be transferred to others. However, when transferring a domain name, both the transferor and the transferee should first understand how the transfer takes place and what the domain name transfer process is.
To transfer a domain name, simply go to the domain name management panel and select Modify Registration Information.
Domain Name Transfer Process:
1. Go to the domain name management panel and select Modify Registration Information, including password and username.
2. If the domain name is domestic, you will need to provide relevant information about the domain name organization, such as legal person identification (such as a faxed ID card) or the organization's business license.
3. Personal domain names generally do not require proof; all you need is the domain name management panel login address and password.
Domain Name Structure:
Take a common domain name as an example. The Baidu website URL consists of two parts. The symbol "baidu" is the main domain name, while the symbol "com" at the end is the suffix, indicating that it is a top-level domain name (.com). The preceding "www." is the network name, representing the www domain name. DNS regulations stipulate that the symbols in a domain name must consist of English letters and numbers, each symbol cannot exceed 63 characters, and uppercase and lowercase letters are not distinguished. Symbols cannot contain punctuation marks other than hyphens (-). The lowest-level domain name is written on the left, while the highest-level domain name is written on the right. A complete domain name consisting of multiple symbols cannot exceed 255 characters in total.
Some countries have also developed and used domain names in their own languages, such as German and French. China has also begun to use Chinese domain names, but it is expected that English-based domain names (i.e., English domain names) will remain the mainstream in China for a considerable period of time.
