What to do with expired domains? How to handle expired domains? Please see the following explanation:
I. MIT Domain Expiration Renewal Instructions
According to MIT's domain rules, COM/NET/ORG domains that have expired for 13 days and have not been renewed will be reclassified by MIT from our company's MIT agent account into the category of domains to be abandoned and prepared for deletion. This means that the domain owner has lost ownership and control of the domain, and therefore the domain may encounter several situations (but not limited to these):
1. The domain may be transferred to another MIT agent account by someone else before official deletion by renewing it without providing a MIT registry key. In this case, it cannot be renewed or managed by our company;
2. The domain may fail to renew and be officially deleted by MIT.
Therefore, please be sure to renew your domain 13 days before it expires. The system will automatically deduct the fee for automatic renewal.
For domains that expire within 13-35 days of expiration, the system will automatically deduct the fee after submission, but automatic renewal will not occur. We will manually renew your domain after receiving the deduction notification.
For domains that expire within 36-70 days of expiration, the domain is in the redemption period. The system will not automatically deduct the fee after submission. We will contact you again for confirmation before manually renewing your domain.
II. Renewal Instructions for Expired .CN (English) Domain Names
CN (English) domain names enter a high-price redemption period 35 days after expiration (36-48 days after expiration). If you wish to redeem the domain, please select the "Domain Redemption" option. We will deduct the redemption fee (400 RMB/domain for English .CN domains, and redemption will be processed simultaneously for Chinese .CN domains).
III. Renewal Instructions for International (English) Domain Names
After an international domain enters the redemption period, the registrar will redeem the domain for you after you pay the redemption fee (900 RMB/domain). (If the redemption is unsuccessful, the registrar will refund the fee to your account.)
Note: The above procedures do not guarantee 100% success. If the renewal (redemption) is unsuccessful, the renewal (redemption) fee will be refunded.
